Majestic defeats Dunklees


STONINGTON — Majestic swept singles play on its way to a 5-1 win against Dunklees in the Stonington Recreation Tennis League Tuesday night.

Charlie Newell and Chris Meyers won the singles matches 10-0 and 10-1, respectively.

Joe and Steven Boscia won their singles match 10-6, while Tom McCormick and John Tarpley won 10-1.

Cady Kolnaski and Barbara LaValley also won their doubles match 10-4.

The lone winner for Dunklees came when Karen Renaud and Deb Baldwin won their doubles match 10-1.

Avies................................3

Charles Swab took the two singles matches, but Avies won three of four in doubles for the tie.

Colin Melford (10-3 and Budy Harvey (10-0) were singles winners.

Ann Harvey and Amy Cochran also earned a point for Charles Swab in doubles (10-2).

Doubles winners for Avies were Jeff Nelson and Al Stein (10-6), Jeff Moorehead and Todd Higgins (10-6) and Donna Sullivan and Deb Chamberlain (10-2).
