Mystic tops Pawcatuck in opener

PAWCATUCK — Mystic/Groton pitcher Allison Georgetti pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts helping her 11-12 softball All-Star team to a 4-1 win against Pawcatuck/North Stonington in the District 10 opener Wednesday night.

Georgetti also doubled as Groton/Mystic scored a run in the first, another in the second and two more in the third to take a 4-0 lead.

Nora Ryan triple and drove in two runs. Angelina Doak also tripled and Aspen Ryan singled and drove in a run.

Miranda Arruda and Sarah Flakus finished with two hits each for Pawcatuck/North Stonington. Flakus also drove in a run

Katie Sanford, who singled. pitched all six innings and took the loss. Elisa Bell, who singled, scored Pawcatuck’s only run in the fourth inning.

Mystic scored the first four runs with one in the first, one in the second and two in the third.

Pawcatuck/North Stonington hosts Montville on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Mystic/Groton travels to East Lyme Friday at 5:30 p.m.
