Denton takes third at Speedbowl


WATERFORD — Hope Valley’s Garrett Denton finished third in the 25-lap Mini Stocks feature Saturday night at the Waterford Speedbowl.

Charlestown’s Dale Sherman was 12th and Ian Brew of Wood River Junction finished 17th.

Kyle James of Ashaway took fifth in the 40-lap SK-Modified feature.

Westerly’s D.J. McGouran turned in an eighth-place showing in the 25-lap New England Truck Series race. North Stonington’s Kendall Metcalf placed 14th.

Alan Tirrell placed 12th in the 25-lap SK Modified feature. Ritt Shawn placed 19th in the 25-lap Street Stocks event.
