Running

■ Julia Mastrandrea was the fastest girl and Matthew Morrone was the first boy in the children’s race Wednesday at the first Westerly Track & Athletic Club 2014 Fun Run of the season.

Mastrandrea finished in 2 minutes, 3 seconds and Morrone finished in 2:08. The distance was a third of a mile.

Olivia Riley placed second in the girls’ race in 2:05 and Kaya West was third in 2:10. Billy deCastro placed second in the boys’ race in 2:09 and Will Swain was third in 2:10.

There were 35 runners in the children’s run.

In the adult races it was Randi Burr placing first among the women in 20:13 and Nick Celico first in the men’s run with a time of 16:41. The distance was 3.1 miles.

Gabriella Celico placed second in the women’s division in 21:38 and Jessica Orr was third in 22:27. Tom Bousquet was the second male finisher, running a 17:24 and Jeff Walker was third in 17:57.

Ninety three runners participated in the adult run.
