DeSimone helps NLC edge Dingos


STONINGTON — Sal DeSimone went 3 for 3 with a run batted in to help NLC Landscaping to a 7-6 win over Gringo Dingos on Wednesday in Stonington Recreation League softball play.

NLC Landscaping (3-1) scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to break a 6-6 tie. Gringo Dingos (1-3) scored three runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game.

Todd Santono went 2 for 3 with one RBI in the win.

Jay Bradley was a perfect 3 for 3 with a pair of home runs and three runs batted in for Gringo Dingos.

Eric Hoadley singled, homered and drove in three runs to pace Hi-Tech Meds (3-0) in the win.

Hi-Tech went ahead 17-6 after scoring nine runs in the top of the sixth inning. Matt Fallon went 2 for 4 with a couple of runs batter in for Hi-Tech.

Vinny Dimella went 3 for 4 with one run batted in and Tim Entz went 3 for 4 with two RBIs in the loss.

WESTERLY MEN

WESTERLY — Anthony Puscuzzi went 3 for 4 with a home run and drove in four runs to help Danny’s Bar/Haversham defeat McQuade’s Marketplace/Brazen Hen 12-9 in a Westerly Men’s Softball League game on Wednesday.

Lucas Raiche (2 for 4) homered, doubled and drove in two runs and Kyle Smith (2 for 4) hit a solo home run for the winners, who are now 2-3.

Ryan Hellert went 4 for 4 with a double, and Mark Moniz (2 for 4) had a homer and four RBIs for McQuade’s/Brazen Hen (2-2).

Matt Intrieri went 3 for 3 with a homer and two runs batted in Wednesday as Blackout improved to 5-0.

Andrew Morenzoni (3 for 4), doubled, tripled and drove in a run, and Jerry Cook (2 or 3) homered and knocked in a pair of runs.

Luis Valdez went 2 for 3 with a double for Affordable Furnishings (2-4).

Unbeaten Blackout (6-0) handed Hilltop Cafe (5-1) its first loss in emphatic fashion Wednesday. The game was halted by the mercy rule.

Andy Mongillo and Jeff Beauchamp went 4 for 4 and Ron Sposato was 3 for 3. Mongillo hit an inside-the-park home run and drove in three runs. Beachamp hit a pair of doubles while Sposato homered, doubled and knocked in four runs.

Brian Howard went 2 for 3 with a RBI for Hilltop.
