    Westerly gets two U10 wins

    WAKEFIELD — Westerly’s under-10 girls’ youth soccer team improved to 6-0-1 with a pair of victories against two South County teams over the weekend.

    Julia Mastrandrea and Chiara Andrews scored two goals each in a 5-0 win against South County 2 on Saturday at Broad Rock Middle. Alex Gencarelli scored the other Westerly goal.

    Rachel Federico was credited with two assists.

    Megan Henry played well on offense. Defensive standouts were keeper Tessa Kluver (six saves) and Talia Sisto.

    Westerly also beat South County 1 5-0 on Friday at the Gingerella Complex in Westerly.

    Mastrandrea scored two goals, while Andrews, Federico and Gencarelli added one each. Mastrandrea also had an assist.

    Henry played will on offense. Kluver finished with four saves. Jillian Octeau and Sisto were defensive standouts.

    U16 GIRLS

    N. PROVIDENCE — Alissa Haik scored two goals as Westerly (1-3-2) earned its first victory of the season Sunday.

    Mallory Hall-Thomsen, Christina Imbriglio, Taylor Fiore-Chettiar and Emma Givens scored one goal each. Givens and Haik contributed two assists each. Marissa Trombino also added an assist.

    Others who played well were Kora Lamb (defender), Alyson Lamb (midfielder), Lauren Siwinski (midfielder) and Adeline Fauth (keeper).

    U10 BOYS

    Westerly........................... 3

    WESTERLY — Joel Henry scored two goals and Elliott Danto finished with two assists, but Westerly lost Sunday’s game.

    Ryan Scanapieco scored once and Joel Henry added an assist.

    Chad Mayne was a defensive standout.
