Waterford Speedbowl: James fifth in Mini Stock race; two local drivers disqualified


WATERFORD — Kyle James of Ashaway finished fifth in the Mini Stocks race at Waterford Speedbowl Saturday night. Dale Sherman of Charlestown finished eighth.

Four of the original top five finishers were disqualified for failing postrace technical inspection, including Garrett Denton of Hope Valley and Ian Brew of Wood River Junction.

Ken Cassidy of Lisbon, Conn., and Denton had finished one-two. Denton was disqualified for spindle modification.

Chris Ivory of Oakdale, Conn. won the race.
