Bulldog wrestlers win league title


BARRINGTON — Jazymyne Kinney’s 31-second pin in the 159-pound match highlighted Westerly Middle’s 45-27 win over Barrington in the regular season finale Tuesday.

Kinney’s pin was one of six on the day for Westerly, which wrapped up the Northern Division championship with a 9-1 record.

Other pins for Westerly came from Brady Holdredge (104), Ethan Kadar (112), Raymond Hill (133), Ryan O’Donnell (148) and Kyle Roberts (170).

Raul Santiago won a 4-2 overtime decision in the 119-pound match.

The middle school junior varsity state championships are on Saturday. The varsity middle school state tournament takes place the weekend of Feb 8-9. Both tournaments will be at the Cumberland Wellness Center.
