Chariho wrestlers earn firsts

NARRAGANSETT — Five Chariho Middle wrestlers won their respective weight classes Saturday in the Narragansett Pier Round Robin Tournament.

Kyle Merritt finished 5-0, defeating Westerly’s Dominic Bonano in the finals, 6-0, to win at 82 pounds. At 89 pounds, Tyler Dumais capped a 5-0 slate with an 11-5 win.

At 112, it was an all-Chariho final as Cameron Anderson beat Jordan Kelvington, 4-1.

Ethan Blanchard went 3-0 to win the 119-pound division, and Tommy Wrzesian went 5-0 with a 15-0 victory in the 148-pound final.

In round-robin formats, each wrestler competes against everyone in their weight class. The best record at the end determines the winner.
