PROVIDENCE — Westerly High’s Cheyanne Robinson kept her high-jump streak alive.
The Bulldog sophomore has finished first in all five league meets of her young career, taking first first outright on three of the five occasions.
Highlights were few and far between for Westerly which went against parochial powerhouse La Salle and Portsmouth in Saturday’s Division I-Headley meet.
La Salle beat Westerly 103½-5½ and defeated Portsmouth 80½-27½. Portsmouth trimmed Westerly 67-38.
At least two La Salle athletes finished in the top three in all but one of the 11 individual events. The Rams swept the top three spots five times.
Robinson tied La Salle junior Mary Ernster for first place in the high jump, each clearing 4 feet, 8 inches.
Charlotte Andrus was the only other Bulldog to crack the top three. She was third in the 600 in 1 minute, 50 seconds.
La Salle, which has won or shared the last six state titles, is off to a 4-0 start in dual meets. Westerly and Portsmouth were competing in their first dual. The Bulldogs have another one on Thursday, taking on West Warwick and East Greenwich at 5:30 p.m.
SWANSEA, Mass. — Westerly High’s Emily Roy earned scores of 8.0 on vault, 7.75 on uneven bars, 7.9 on floor exercise and 7.55 on balance beam during a gymnastics meet on Saturday.
Megan Roy had a 7.95 on floor, 7.25 on balance beam and a 6.95 on bars. The two sisters compete as individuals.
