    Westerly wrestler takes first

    GROTON — Jacob Schafer of the Westerly Wrestling Club finished first in the Bad to the Bone USA Wrestling Tournament at Fitch High on Nov. 24.

    Schafer competed in the 129-136 pound middle school division.

    Others who placed in the division were Raul Santiago (third, 113-115), Braden Holdredge (third, 100-101), Jonathan Brutcher (third, 90-99) and Sam Luzzi (fifth, 72-77).

    Triston Cross placed fourth in the 97-112 high school division.

    The tournament was hosted by the Westerly club.
