CHARLESTOWN — Joe Stanfield scored 20 points and rushed for 170 yards to lead the Chariho Junior Varsity Cowboys to a 26-8 win against the Tri-Town Titans to conclude the Rhode Island Pre-Teen Youth Football Conference regular season on Sunday.

Josh Smithey scored on a 30-yard run in the first quarter. Stanfield’s conversion run made it 8-0 lead. Stanfield scored on a 66-yard run in the second quarter and again on a 5-yard pass from Levi King to give the Cowboys a 20-0 halftime lead. That passing TD was set up by a 32-yard pass play to King from Damon Byrnes-Mitchell.

Stanfield scampered 32 yards to paydirt in the third quarter. Jack Haxton led the Cowboy defense with six tackles (two for losses) and forced a fumble. Vail Bowers and Byrnes-Mitchell each recovered a fumble and had five tackles (two for losses).
