Westerly U10 White wins a pair


CRANSTON — The Westerly Under-10 White Division youth soccer team completed a weekend sweep with a 2-0 victory over CLCF Sunday.

Tyler Rafferty and Travis Costa scored Westerly’s goals. Rafferty, Kamerin Foberg and Owen Healy each played net during the shutout.

The win came on the heels of a 2-0 home win over Portsmouth on Saturday. Rafferty and Foberg scored the goals and Daniel Intrieri had an assist.

Kamerin and Healy combined for the shutout. Next up for Westerly is a game against Chariho Saturday at Ningret Park.

TIVERTON — Tsegaye Janet and Joel Henry each scored once in an under-10 win for Westerly Saturday. J.P. Gencarella had an assist.

Dylan Fister and Carter Danto played net for Westerly and Chad Mayne stood out on defense.

EAST GREENWICH — Julia Mastrandrea and Megan Henry scored the goals in Saturday’s win. Chiara Andrews picked up an assist.

Alex Gencarelli Jillian Octeau were defensive stalwarts, and Rachel Federico made 11 saves.

WESTERLY — Mackenzie Fusaro shut out Ocean State to preserve a tie Sunday. Nina Cillino and Jacklyn Fusaro also had strong games for Westerly.
