Westerly U11 squad edges Jamestown


JAMESTOWN — Aaron Healy scored a hat trick to lead the Westerly U11 boys’ competitive soccer team to a 4-3 win against Jamestown on Sunday.

Joseph Gencarelli scored the other goal for Westerly (3-2).

Ben Luzzi record two assists. Healy and Garrison each had one.

Goaltender Jack Healy and defenders Cameron Jakob and Sam Elliot were named as outstanding players.

PAWTUCKET — Julia Mastrandrea scored to gain a tie at the McKinnon-Alves Sports Complex on Sunday. Chiara Andrews was credited with an assist.

Tessa Kluver had 13 saves for Westerly (2-0-2). Talia Sisto and Jillian Octeau were other defensive standouts.

DATELINE — Westerly fell to 3-2 with Sunday’s loss at North Smithfield Elementary.

Goalkeeper Jaden Knutson and forward Colby Makin were outstanding players for Westerly.
