Westerly U12 team wins with shutout


WESTERLY — Seven players scored as the Westerly U12 boys’ soccer team beat Providence 7-0 on Sept. 7.

Sal Intrieri, Aiden Faubert, Michael Impriglio, Sean Rafferty, Colby Makin, Nathaniel Ober and Blake Busch each scored a goal for Westerly (1-0).

Sam Luzzi had two assists. Imbriglio, Rafferty, Ober and Makin each recorded one.

Forward Nico Serluca, goalkeeper Jayden Knutson, midfielder Sebastian Riesch and defender Davide Allen were other outstanding players for Westerly.

U11 BOYS

WESTERLY — Ben Luzzi, Aaron Healy and Joseph Gencarelli each scored two goals in the Westerly win.

Joshua Bozek and Garrison Aldrich chipped in one apiece.

Luzzi and Gencarelli also had two assists each. Jacob Gaccione and Cameron Jakob each had one.

Jakob and Tanner Kelly were defensive standouts. Jack Healy and Bozek were the Westerly goaltenders.

Westerly led 4-0 at halftime.

U11 GIRLS

Westerly........................... 3

Warwick Firefighters...... 2

WESTERLY — Westerly led 2-0 at halftime and held on for the win on Sept. 7.

Rachel Dobson scored two goals and Gia Keegan had the other. Emily Keegan and Jaclyn Fusaro each were credited with an assist.

Mackenzie Fusaro was the Westerly goalkeeper. Lydia Gladski and Willa Hetu were standouts on defense, as was Diana Turano on offense.

U10 GIRLS

Westerly Blue Central..... 3

Portsmouth...................... 3

PORTSMOUTH — Julia Mastrandrea scored all three goals for Westerly on Sept. 8.

Rachel Federico was credited with an assist.

Tessa Kluver had seven saves in goal for Westerly. Jillian Octeau was a defensive standout.

U10 BOYS

Warwick Firefighters..... 4

Westerly White............... 3

WARWICK — Warwick led 2-1 at halftime and held on for the win.

Tyler Rafferty scored two goals for Westerly White and Kamerin Foberg scored the other.

Travis Costa and Dominick Lombard were the Westerly White goalkeepers. J.P. Smith was a defensive standout.

WESTERLY — J.P. Gencarella scored two goals for Westerly and Tsegaye Janat had the other.

Elliot Danto was credited with an assist. Connor Cioffi and goalie Dylan Fister were other outstanding players.
