Avie’s tops Duncklee


STONINGTON — Chris Cappello posted a 10-3 win in men’s No. 1 singles play to help Avie’s Ski/Sports to a 6-0 win over Duncklee in Stonington Rec Tennis League play on Monday.

Matt Cappello was a 10-0 winner in the second men’s singles match.

In the first men’s doubles match it was Mark Adams and Todd Higgins posting a 10-3 win for Avie’s.

The team of Max Segal and Jeff Nelson won the second men’s doubles match by a 10-5 score.

Leah Ward and Deb Chamberlain were 10-5 winners in the women’s No. 1 doubles match.

Hannah Siener and Abi Cushman won the second doubles match, 10-2.

Old Mystic Village.......... 6

Simply Majestic.............. 0

Kyle Mulvaney won 10-3 in the No. 1 men’s singles match and Dieter Zumsander took the second men’s singles match by a score of 10-8 to lead Old Mystic Village.

Daryl Bender and Duncan Welch won the men’s No. 1 doubles match 10-1 and the team of Chris Tasca and Don Harrington won 10-1 in the second men’s doubles match.

Colleen Kluberdanz and Anna Bartholet won the first women’s doubles match by a 10-7 count.

The second doubles contest went to the Old Mystic team of Deb Morehead and Tam Gorski, 10-0.
