Haberek earns upset against Hi Tech


ADULT SOFTBALL

STONINGTON — The Re-elect Ed Habarek team scored an upset 11-7 win against Hi Tech Meds in a Stonington Recreation Men’s Softball game on Tuesday.

Re-Elect Haberek (11-6) jumped to an 11-0 lead after four innings and held on for the win. Hi Tech (16-3) rallied for six runs in the sixth and one in the seventh but could score no more.

Brandon Gauthier and Ed Haberek each went 3-for-4 for the winners and Matt Faquet was 2-for-3. Gauther drove in three runs and Haberek drove in two.

Mike Williams (two hits) and Josh DePerry each had two RBIs for Hi Tech.

Connected Systems 4

Hi Tech banged out 20 hits in an earlier game on Tuesday. The winners scored seven runs in the first two innings and sealed the game with six more in the sixth.

Kevin Perry, Mike Williams and Brian Henry each had three hits and two RBIs for Hi Tech.

Johan Bjork also had three hits and two RBIs for Connected Systems (9-9). Mike Young went 3-for-3.
