Westerly goes unbeaten in tourney


WESTERLY — Westerly’s under-10 girls’ soccer team finished with a 3-0 record in the Vicenzo Nigro Memorial Soccer Tournament on June 29.

The team played in the under-10 division.

Westerly beat Chariho 4-1, South County 3-2 and Stonington 9-4.

Rachel Federico and Chiara Andrews scored seven goals each. Alex Nelson and Julia Mastrandrea added one each.

Federico finished with three assists, while Mastrandrea, Talia Sisto and Julia Baruti contributed one each.

Tessa Kluver (keeper), Jillian Octeau (defense) and Sisto (defense) also excelled.
