Letter: We must all work for a ‘State of the Reunion’

The term “State of the Union” misses the mark since it’s really the “State of the Reunion” that most Americans are concerned about. While a September poll revealed “incompetent” is the most common word respondents gave to describe President Trump, a Jan. 15 Pew Research Center poll revealed “good” is the most common word that describes President Obama and this is the reunion we must work toward.

What is the “State of the Reunion” with a presidency you can trust, a reunion with a presidency described by peace, justice, truth, compassion, understanding, decency, honesty and qualities we can look up to?  Not a climate-destroying fossil-fuel-lover, fake-news belittler, white-supremacy supporter, self-absorbed narcissistic dictator wannabe that American citizens and world inhabitants look down upon, wanting to distance themselves from. Similar to the fight to save our climate, we all have a role to play in the “State of our Reunion” to an administration that we can be proud of.
