As a parent with two daughters I believe that anyone who engages in a sexual assault or harassment of others should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. As a personal friend of Mr. Joseph DeLorenzo I know that he is also a father with two daughters.
Now comes the hysteria created when Rep. Teresa Tanzi complained she was sexually harassed by someone in the Rhode Island House of Representatives. As second vice chairman of the Democrat State Committee, DeLorenzo is now being pounced upon by the leadership because he dared to ask who it was that did it?
Good Lord, you might think he was discussing a coup d'etat! He simply was exercising his “freedom of speech” protected by the First Amendment. I'm disappointed Gov. Raimondo didn't recognize that when she called for his resignation! She is also walking a very slippery slope regarding his civil rights when she threatened to have him removed from the state committee!
To date, Rep. Tanzi has not offered any evidence to support her claim. She simply has said she was sexually harassed at the Statehouse. Apparently that's all a Progressive Democrat needs to say in order to make the leadership lose it's mind.
As far as I am concerned it's all pretty thin and the Democrat leadership, including Gov. Raimondo, owe Joe DeLoenzo and the people of Rhode Island an apology for acting so irresponsibly!
