The hard work North Stonington has been doing for the last 10 years is finally paying off. We started by learning how to plan our town and we looked for ways to keep it rural and affordable.
We’ve changed our regulations to allow the kind of businesses we want, and lo and behold, we now have a food production business at one end of Route 2 and if I can read the tea leaves, we will soon be allowing the kind of tourism at the other end of Route 2 that is in sync with our agricultural landscape.
To keep going in the right direction our town must make a good impression on businesses who wish to come here. Typically the first thing they do is shake hands with the first selectman to get a feel for our town. It is vital to have a mature, knowledgeable person in that seat. I am confident that Mike Urgo will be a good representative of our town, and will keep us moving forward.
