Michael Reagan’s column, ‘Things I would like to be thankful for,” in The Westerly Sun on Monday, Nov. 27, has some good ideas in his list of 18 things he’ll give thanks for, but the first one might be the best, “...when the president quits….” Enough said!
We have Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday, but the current president has so diabolically twisted reality, how about “Honest Wednesday,” in which the president and his administration can’t lie and must tell the truth the Wednesday after Thanksgiving?
We would enjoy the peace and quiet during this busy season, assured this would be one day of silence.
Things I would like to be thankful for: “Animal rights Thursday,” when everyone would try their best to adhere to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ guiding light: “Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on or use for entertainment,” and “Fossil Fuel-free Friday,” when everyone would only use fossil fuels when absolutely necessary.
And what days would you like to see? I encourage my fellow Westerly Sun readers to submit suggestions for ideas that might help make our community and our world a better place. Thank you.
