  • In an emergency, closest facility was the best choice

I have read with some concern newspaper articles regarding visits and treatments at Westerly Hospital that, kindly stated, were less than satisfactory.

I had occasion to require emergency medical services on a Saturday morning recently and my first thought was to go to Pequot Health Center in Groton. We live in Pawcatuck and my wife convinced me to go to Westerly as it is located only 2 miles from our house.

I am so glad I went there. Every person, from the admittance desk, to the person who took my vitals, to the person who attended me in the emergency room, Dr. Frederick Jaccarino, and, especially, Dr. Bradford Lavigne, who did the procedure, and his operating room assistant ,Lisa, was just terrific.

Great job by everyone and, though I hope not to avail myself of their services in the future, if I need to, I will not hesitate.
