Military families indeed pay fair share of taxes

This letter concerns the Talk Back comments in your paper from “Panopo.”

For his information, you have to put 20 years or more of your life to get benefits. They do take taxes out of military pay. Also, Tricare is an insurance you pay into out of your pocket to get when you retire and get old.

We paid a lot of years for this benefit. I am glad we did because my husband died and I took over the benefits. “Panopo” knows nothing about military life. I do, and I’ve lived it so far. All you military spouses, write to “Panopo.” We pay taxes. He thinks we don’t.
