Thank you to everyone who helped set flags in place

A 21-gun salute to the organizers and volunteers that set in place the American flags that lined the streets in downtown Westerly-Pawcatuck.

It is a fine tribute to everyone who served in the United States’ armed forces. Our communities, and every other town and city that does likewise, can be proud that they took the time on this Independence Day, as well as other holidays throughout the year, to pay homage to the men and women who have served and are presently serving our nation to protect one of America’s most important attributes — freedom!

Antonio P. Trebisacci Jr.
