Letter: Westerly Town Councilors ignored public’s support for Sposato

I was amazed the other night while listening to the Town Council meeting on Wednesday, June 28.

Three councilors didn’t listen to the people that night by failing to vote for Louis Sposato to fill the vacant seat on the Council. The way I see it their agenda had nothing to do with the people, only their way.

Philo Willets did a great job that night and hit the nail on the head. I sent those councilors emails asking them to support Mr. Sposato, yet not one of those three could even answer me back. Isn’t that nice of them?

I’m a registered Democrat, but would never vote for these three. I even spoke to Jack Carson in a local store and asked him to support Mr. Sposato, but he couldn’t even give me an answer. Not one person spoke up for their candidate that night. The next election I hope the voters remember this.

Ed Morrone said that night, “Even with six we can get the work done regardless of whether there are seven or six here, the work of the council will proceed.”

Question Mr. Morrone: If you cannot even elect someone the people of Westerly wanted, how are you going to agree to get anything done?
