Best months ready to unfold

While we’re talking about uplifting topics we can’t help but notice that the forecast for next week indicates that our long-delayed spring is finally on the doorstep.

With daytime temperatures expected to be around 60 — plus or minus a few degrees from day to day — and the overnight temps staying in the mid to upper 40s and even into the 50s by week’s end, this may truly be the real thing at long last.

We look forward to those Saturday morning chore runs when we bump into friends and acquaintances at Agway and McQuade’s Hardware in Westerly or at Flemings in Stonington as we all head out to soak up the sun after a long, miserable winter. Turning over the soil trumps shoveling the snow hands down. With the start of May, we’re in for that glorious stretch through October that makes this one of the best places to live.
