Artists invited to enter regional ACGOW exhibit

WESTERLY — The Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly is seeking artists to participate in its 21st Annual Regional Exhibit.

The largest and most diverse show of the year at the gallery, the juried show is open to local and regional artists from throughout the Northeast.

All fine art and fine craft media are eligible. Exceptional work is recognized in various categories and prizes will be awarded including, new this year, the Louise Pittaway Award.

Roberta Richman, founding artist member of Hera Gallery, will be a juror. Richman will be responsible for determining the winners of the Fine Arts and Craft awards. For the first time, the gallery will award the $500 Louise Pittaway Award, in honor of the Connecticut painter and photographer who passed away last year. Fine Arts awards also include the $200 Washington Trust Company Award; $100 Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly Award; $200 Professional Planning Award and the $100 Jerry’s Artarama Award. Five $250 Craft Awards will be given by the Katherine Forest Crafts Foundation.

Hand-delivered entries will be received at the gallery April 26-27, from noon to 5 p.m.

For more information including prospectus, fees and entry form, visit westerlyarts.com.

An opening night reception for May’s Regional Exhibit will be held May 2, from 5 to 8 p.m., with awards announcements at 7 p.m.
