Hire-A-Teen seeks youth s for snow shoveling

STONINGTON — Stonington Human Services is looking for Stonington youths, ages 12-18, to add to the on-call list for residents who will need snow shoveling this season.

Interested youth should register with Hire-A-Teen by visiting stonington-ct.gov/Pages/StoningtonCT_Youth/Hire-A-Teen or calling 860-535-5015. Residents interested in hiring youth should sign up with the Hire-A-Teen program prior to inclement weather by calling 860-535-5015.

The Hire-A-Teen program is a youth employment referral service designed to match young people with residents in the town of Stonington. Typical jobs include yard work, child care, helping the elderly, cleaning, typing and pet care.

Donors needed for free winter boot program

STONINGTON — Stonington Human Services is currently accepting names of children for the 2013 Santa Anonymous Boot Program.

The program, sponsored in part by Thames Valley Council for Community Action Inc.’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, provides new winter boots to eligible Stonington children. Call 860-535-5015 for more information, to be a sponsor or to help a child receive a new pair of warm, winter boots.
