Police: Report of pedestrian struck by train in Bradford unfounded

WESTERLY — According to police, the report of a pedestrian struck by a train is unfounded. They have searched the tracks in the area where the strike was reported and have found no evidence supporting the complaint, although they are still investigating.

WESTERLY — Police and fire personnel are responding to the Amtrak railroad tracks behind North Capalbo Drive in Bradford on reports of a passenger struck by a train.

Local emergency officials, who responded to the report at about 11:55 a.m., are attempting to contact Amtrak to stop train traffic on the tracks. The train involved in the incident is stopped just past the scene.

Police from Westerly, Charlestown and Amtrak, as well as Westerly Ambulance and Dunn’s Corners Fire Department are on the scene.
