Amber Alert issued for missing R.I. boy, mother

WOONSOCKET (AP) — Police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing 6-year-old from Woonsocket who may have been taken out of Rhode Island in violation of a family court order.

Authorities say Daniel Britt was last seen a week ago with his mother, Andria Britt. They say she may be en route to Washington state.

Wednesday’s alert says Andria Britt had shared custody with Daniel’s father but skipped a court date last week and failed to return the boy to him. It says the court has granted the father sole custody.

Authorities said Andria Britt drives a red 2004 Ford Focus with Rhode Island tag 942-649. She’s 34, 135 pounds and 5 feet, 5 inches.

Daniel Britt has blue eyes and brown hair. He is 4 feet, 3 inches and 50 pounds.
