Stonington Borough to host holiday stroll

STONINGTON — The Stonington Borough holiday stroll will be held on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

The stroll will begin at Wadawanuck Square, where carolers will gather in front of the library and sing prior to the tree lighting and arrival of Santa Claus. After the tree lighting, strollers can enjoy free cider at the library and then head down Water Street, where most shops will be offering refreshments until 8 p.m. There will be free parking at the town docks.

The stroll is sponsored by the Stonington Borough Merchants Association and the Stonington Village Improvement Association.

ParaPro certification course offered

STONINGTON — Stonington Human services will offer the ParaPro Assessment, a general aptitude test that offers certification for paraprofessionals, at Mystic Middle School, 204 Mistuxet Ave., on Friday at 5:15 p.m.

The certification is for those who wish to be classroom assistants to teachers. The cost is $75 for residents and $100 for non-residents.

Author Kietzman to discuss ‘The Good Life’ in Stonington

STONINGTON —Susan Kietzman will speak on her book “The Good Life” at the Stonington Free Library on Thursday at noon. Bring a sandwich; beverages will be provided.

Discover Local Authors to feature Butler

GROTON — National speaker and business coach Nancy Butler will be speaking and reading from her inspirational memoir, “Above All Else: Success in Life and Business” at the Groton Senior Center on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. as part of Discover Local Authors.

Discover Local Authors is an author series sponsored jointly by the Groton Senior Center and the Groton Public Library.
