Halloween Parade set for Thursday in downtown Westerly


WESTERLY — Trick-or-treating and a costume parade will be held downtown on Thursday, Halloween night.

High Street from the post office to Canal Street will be closed from 4 to 6 p.m. Trick-or-treating will begin at 4:30 p.m. at participating shops and businesses. The costume parade assembles at the post office at 5:30 p.m. and strolls up High Street, through Wilcox Park, and back to the post office. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes

The event is co-sponsored by the Downtown Business Association, the Westerly Substance Abuse Task Force and the Westerly Police. The rain date is Saturday, Nov. 2.
