Two candidates’ forums scheduled in Stonington

STONINGTON — Two candidates’ forums have been scheduled in advance of the Nov. 5 election, and The Sun will accept questions from readers for use during the forum. Attendees also will be able to submit written questions on the night of the forums.

The first is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Stonington Community Center. The forum will include all candidates for the Board of Selectmen, including incumbent Democratic First Selectman Ed Haberek, and his colleague on the board, Republican Glee McAnanly, who is challenging Haberek for the top spot. Candidates for selectmen include incumbent Democrat George Crouse and challenger Bill Brown, a Republican and former First Selectman.

The second forum is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.

Questions may be sent to editorial@thewesterlysun.com.
