GROTON — Delays are expected along Interstate 95 South over the next couple hours following a two-car accident in the high speed lane about ¼ mile before Exit 88.
No serious injuries have been reported in the accident, which occurred around 11:35 a.m.
Connecticut State Police, Old Mystic Fire Department and staff with Mystic River Ambulance are currently on scene, dispatchers confirmed. Further details of the accident were not immediately available.
Delays are anticipated and the accident is expected to be cleared within a few hours, according to a report from the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
In addition, the department warns of construction along the northbound side on I-95 in Groton. Road Work between exits 87 and 88, a 1.6-mile stretch, will be in effect today until 3 p.m.. The right lane is closed.
