WESTERLY — Michael A. Tardie, 30, of 121 Oak St., was charged with disorderly conduct after police said he pointed a pistol at another Oak Street resident and said, “Do you want to play?” Westerly police said the incident occurred after a man asked Tardie to turn down the radio in his car.
The police said Tardie pointed a Baretta BB gun at a man who had motioned to Tardie from his front porch and complained that the music coming from his silver Dodge Magnum was, and had been on several other occasions, “extremely loud.”
Police said Tardie returned about two minutes later, slowed down in front of the man’s house and pointed a black gun at him. He then sped away, according to the resident.
Tardie was later found near his home and was reported to have told police that he had pointed a cellphone at the resident because he had pulled a BB gun on him. Police said Tardie admitted he then drove home to get his BB gun and drove past the residence pointing his gun at him.
He was later stopped by Westerly police at gunpoint.
It was not determined if the man on the porch was also in possession of a BB gun.
