Police logs: Feb. 12, 2014


Westerly

Jose L. Negron, 23, of Clinton, Conn., was charged Monday with being a fugitive from justice from Brevard County, Fla., charged with aggravated assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

Ronald J. Durfee, 27, of 86 Pierce St., Apt. 2, Westerly, was arrested Monday on a Superior Court bench warrant.

Charles A. Perez, 47, of Pawtucket, was charged Monday with simple assault and/or battery and disorderly conduct.

James R. Milam, 30, of 11 Robin Hollow Lane, Westerly, was charged Monday with domestic vandalism/malicious injury to property.

Charlestown

Eric C. Girard, 22, of 36 Edgeware St., Charlestown, was charged Jan. 21 with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, first offense, blood alcohol level .15 or greater.

Grover Champlin, 18, of 70 Columbia Heights Oval, Apt. A, Charlestown, was charged Sunday on a bench warrant issued from 4th Division District Court.

Richmond

Lawrence A. Bestwick, 38, of 76 Egypt St., Hopkinton, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, first offense, blood alcohol content over.15, after he was stopped during an “impaired driving enforcement detail on Richmond Townhouse Road. Bestwick was taken to the station where he submitted to a Breathalyzer test, with blood alcohol content readings of .164 and .157. He was released on a summons to appear for arraignment in 4th Division Court on Feb. 27.
