4th Division District Court


The following Westerly police cases were heard in 4th Division District Court before Judge Madeline Quirk on Friday:

Peter J. Gonsalez, 29, whose last address was the Adult Correctional Institutions, was sentenced on a charged of violating a no-contact order from the prison by sending a birthday card to a woman on Bowling Lane in Bradford in July 2013. He was sentenced to one year at the ACI, with 10 days to serve, the balance suspended with probation, ordered to enroll in a batterer’s intervention program, and issued a no-contact order. The sentence is retroactive to Sept. 6., meaning he has served his time.

Maurice Walton, 53, of 59 Granite St., Apt. 1, Westerly, pleaded no contest to charges of simple assault/battery and disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to a one-year suspended jail term, with a year’s probation and community service.

Sean M. McGuire, 22, of 7 Maxson St., Ashaway, pleaded not guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct. He was released on a promise to appear on Jan. 24.

Susan Viveiros, 35, of 10 Railroad St., Apt A., Shannock, pleaded no contest to a charge of disorderly conduct. The charge was filed and she was ordered to complete community service.

Jason Vacca, 38, of 5 Thompson Ave., Apt. 1, Westerly, pleaded not guilty to charges of trespassing on a railroad right of way, resisting arrest, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, blood-alcohol content unknown. He was released on a promise to appear on Jan. 24.

Kathryn A. Rogers, 24, of 73 Pierce St., Apt. 1, Westerly, pleaded not guilty to a charge of domestic disorderly conduct. She was released on a promise to appear on Jan. 31.

Kris A. Gencarella, 35, of 2 Linnate St., Westerly, pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, blood-alcohol content unknown, and refusal to submit to a chemical test to determine intoxication. Gencarella was released on a promise to appear on Jan. 17.

Michael K. Anderson, 64, of 14 Old Road, Charlestown, pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, blood-alcohol content unknown, and refusal to submit to a chemical test to determine intoxication. Gencarella was released on a promise to appear on Jan. 31.

Jessica Sowle Manchester, 37, of 98 West Broad St., Pawcatuck, pleaded not guilty to charges of issuing three fraudulent checks, each under $1,000. She was released on a promise to appear for a court hearing at a later date.

Freeman N. Sarayura, 24, of 24 Winnapaug Road, Westerly, pleaded not guilty to a charge of procuring alcohol for a minor. He was released on a promise to appear on Jan. 31.

Ryan T. Mayo, 32, of 17 Hobart St., Westerly, pleaded not guilty to charges of simple assault/battery and vandalism/malicious injury to property. He was released on a promise to appear on Jan. 31.

Michelle M. Goulart, 43, of 59 Granite St., Apt. 9, pleaded not guilty to a charge of failing to stop at an accident with damage. She was released on a promise to appear on Jan. 17.

Natale A. Gabriele, 46, of 85 Pierce St., Apt. 1, Westerly, had a charge of domestic simple assault/battery dismissed when the alleged victim refused to testify.

Sharese Stephens, 33, of 1 Cottage St., Apt. 1, Westerly, pleaded no contest to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, blood-alcohol content over .15 (readings, .168, .175). She was sentenced to 20 hours of community service, three months’ loss of license, attendance at DUI school, a $500 fine and court costs.

Justin Harrington, 23, of 22 Brendan St., Westerly, pleaded no contest to a charge of simple assault. The charge was filed.

Christine L. Restelli, 42, of 69 Pleasant St., Apt. 1R, Westerly, pleaded no contest to a charge of cyberstalking by using a track cellphone to “harass” a victim. The charge was filed.
