Man faces domestic and weapons charges

WESTERLY — A 53-year-old man was charged Sunday after police were called to an alleged domestic incident at 52 Pierce St.

Westerly police charged Thomas Dunn with three misdemeanor counts: domestic vandalism/malicious injury to property, domestic disorderly conduct and possession of weapons (a Taser) other than firearms prohibited.

Police said a person on the scene indicated Dunn unsuccessfully tried to fire a 120,000-volt stun gun at him and that it was subsequently wrestled out of his hand. Witnesses also told police Dunn allegedly smashed out a window in the residence.

Dunn was transported to the police station, processed on the charges and released on a promise to appear in 4th Division District Court at a later date.
