Letter: Donations needed to illuminate Veterans Memorial

Plans to illuminate the Veterans Memorial, at the corner of Granite Street and Grove Avenue, are well under way.

We hope to have it operational by Labor Day, Sept. 1. Allen Peck, Superintendent of Wilcox Park, is graciously handling all the details.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, we are close to the amount we needed. Donations to cover the final $500 will be greatly appreciated. To donate, please send a check, made out to The American Flag Fund, to Edward Liguori, 33 Ann St., Westerly, RI 02891.

Anyone having questions should call me at 401-596-7840.
