Motorcycle, car collide on Denison Ave.


MYSTIC — A motorcyclist sustained what appeared to be serious but non-life threatening injuries following a Tuesday afternoon collision with a car on Denison Avenue in Mystic.

At about 4:45 p.m., an unidentified man driving a motorcycle on the Route 27 street appeared to have collided with a newer model gray Toyota Prius with Connecticut tags, sending the Yamaha bike sideways across the roadway and landing near the intersection of Reynolds Hill Road and East Main Street. The female driver of the car did not appear to be injured in the crash.

The Mystic Fire Department, Mystic River Ambulance as well as Stonington Police responded to the scene.

Blood splatter, broken glass and other motorcycle debris littered the street. A section of Denison Avenue from Washington Street to Church Street was closed to traffic until after 5:30 p.m.

Stonington Police are continuing their investigation into the accident.
