    Police: Speeding motorcyclist hits 99 mph

    RICHMOND — A local man was tracked on radar doing speeds of up to 99 mph on his 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle on the rural Beaver River Road before he ditched police, officers said.

    Scott A. Huntley, 24, of 276 Kingstown Road, West Kingston, was charged July 3 with operating on a suspended license and reckless driving. Police said a motorist flagged down the officer, Cpl. William Litterio, and advised him the motorcycle had turned into a driveway. He later turned himself over to police.

    Huntley was later processed at the station and released on a summons to appear in 4th Division District Court on July 31. Police Chief Elwood M. Johnson Jr. said residents living along Beaver River Road had complained about a motorcycle passing their homes on multiple dates at extremely high speeds, resulting in extra patrols.
