WESTERLY — A Railroad Avenue man was arrested on felony drug charges after an investigation by Westerly police.
Michael A. Harris, 26, 27 Railroad Ave., was charged Monday with manufacture/possession/delivery of drugs, second offense and possession with intent to deliver cocaine.
Westerly police detectives, based on information received regarding Harris’ alleged drug interactions, recently conducted an investigation into his activities in which cocaine was purchased. Harris is currently serving a three-year suspended sentence on a Westerly police charge of possession with intent to sell cocaine. Harris pleaded no contest in Washington County Superior Court in 2012 to the charge and was ordered to undergo substance abuse counseling and complete 100 hours of community service.
As a result of information garnered by police, Harris was arrested and his apartment searched and Harris was taken into custody without incident, said police.
Police said they seized a total of 5 grams of powdered cocaine.
Harris was transported to the Westerly police station were he was processed and held for an upcoming court date.
