CHARLESTOWN — A 26-year-old local man was charged after what police are calling a domestic incident Monday at a house on Cherokee Bend.
Ryan W. Manning, of 78 Cherokee Bend, was charged by Charlestown police domestic counts of disorderly conduct and vandalism after police were called for a man pushing over a refrigerator and breaking a stove. Police said when they arrived on the scene they found the mailbox broken “in two, laying in the driveway.” Officers said when they entered the home they found food and items scattered on the kitchen floor and the owner of the home said the refrigerator had fallen onto a cast iron stove. The homeowner estimated the damage at $3,000 to $4,000.
Manning had left the scene, but later turned himself over to officers. He was taken to the Charlestown police department, processed and placed in a cell where officers said he was unruly throughout the night. He was held for arraignment on Tuesday in 4th Division District Court in Wakefield.
