Letter: Hopkinton Dems back Taveras for Governor

At their monthly meeting on May 15, the Hopkinton Democratic Town Committee endorsed Mayor Angel Taveras for governor of Rhode Island.

The mayor spoke to the members regarding his platform. The members were impressed with what the mayor has done with the turnaround with the city of Providence; going from a $100 million deficit when he took office, to now a little over $1 million in surplus; his plan for education with the universal pre-kindergarten and head-start programs, and his job education program, stressing training in diversified fields.
