Death of man at beach likely accidental

CHARLESTOWN — Charlestown police have identified the body of a man found Saturday at the Quonochontaug Breachway. The body of 53-year-old Joseph Huston, of Providence, was found in shallow water next to a vehicle that was stuck in the sand.

A kayaker discovered the body and notified police, who said they believed the death was accidental. Charlestown Police Chief Jeffrey Allen said he was awaiting the results of an autopsy.

“The autopsy will be (today), probably,” he said.
