Stonington man accused of stealing firearm, bicycle


STONINGTON — Stonington police arrested a local resident Tuesday on a warrant and charged him with larceny and stealing a firearm.

Christopher Charles Potter, 21, of 182 Flanders Road, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and two counts of stealing a firearm.

Capt. Jerry Desmond said the charges stemmed from a Nov. 13 incident in which Potter reportedly stole a bicycle and two rifles from a relative. All property was recovered, and Potter was released on $5,000 with surety pending an appearance in court on Jan. 3.
