OCCUPATION I retired from Schonning Insurance on Dec. 31, 2012. (Folks say I am too young to have retired, but I worked at the insurance agency either full or part time for 30 years, ever since I was 14. In March of 2012, I embarked on a singing career as vocalist for the duo (and sometimes trio) Andy & Bethany.

FAVORITE SONG I cannot possibly answer this. It depends upon the circumstance, how I’m feeling, what or whom I’m thinking about. There is no one song I can name.
FAVORITE MOVIE There are so many amazing movies, but the one that jumps out for me immediately is “Dead Poets Society,” so I’ll go with that.
FAVORITE TV SHOW “CBS Sunday Morning,” with Charles Osgood.
FAVORITE PET Our dog, Einstein.
FAVORITE MEAL French fries, with a side of filet mignon.
AMOUNT OF TIME I SPEND A DAY ON FACEBOOK Some days none; some days way too much.
TRAIT I MOST ADMIRE Courage. Especially the courage to do the right thing.
PET PEEVE I used to have many. Now I realize it was exhausting. I see now that each time I point a finger at someone, likely three of my fingers are pointing back at me.
FAVORITE QUOTATION Ugh. Kind of like the favorite song problem. ... I do have a favorite poem, though, from which I could pull many favorite quotes. It is from the prose poem “Desiderata,” written by the American writer Max Ehrmann in 1927. It hangs in my home office and I read it often.

BEST ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED Resentments hold both the resenter and the resentee hostage. There is no upside to harboring resentments.

IF I RULED THE WORLD I WOULD Pray … and the prayer would probably start like this: “Thank you for all of the wonderful blessings you have given me. Um, I have a question. ... Have you completely lost your mind with the whole me as world ruler thing?”
IF I WON THE LOTTERY, THE FIRST THING I WOULD DO IS Figure out what the taxes will be so I knew how much I actually had to work with.
