WESTERLY — Police are continuing to investigate a disturbance and fight that occurred at a Fusaro Avenue residence early Sunday, which resulted in a man suffering a head injury.
When police arrived at the residence, they found a man who appeared unconscious, lying in the road with blood on his head.
The man, whose name has not been released by police, was taken by ambulance to The Westerly Hospital and later transferred to Rhode Island Hospital. The 22-year-old man has since been released from the hospital, Westerly Police Chief Edward St. Clair said Wednesday.
A witness told police the man was among a group of people who had been drinking at the residence. The man returned to the house after the party ended and became involved in a physical altercation with one of the residents.
St. Clair said officers are trying to determine whether the man sustained the head injury as a result of being pushed or from a fall. Possible charges will depend on the outcome of the investigation, St. Clair said.
