Voters OK ordinance items, $28,363 grant appropriation

NORTH STONINGTON — Voters at a town meeting on Monday approved the three agenda items before them, including an additional appropriation of $28,363 from the DUI enforcement grant for resident state troopers.

Voters also approved amendments to the Economic Development Commission ordinance to allow for alternate members and change the commission’s purpose and annual report responsibilities. The changes were requested by the commission.

The last item approved was an ordinance creating a new Municipal Building Committee. The committee will be active whenever there is an active building project in town, such as the new $6 million emergency services center that voters recently approved.
